Flat Plans

Website and Billboard

Website Flat Plans:

This flat plan is a basic template that I used and expanded upon for my website. I used the site Wix.com for the final cut and for experimentation.

Rationale: To create the site I used Wix.com, and I used my iPhone to take the images, the colour scheme was simple: black, red, white not exceeding anything to colourful so not to draw attention away from the focus.

Billboard Flat Plan:

I created my billboard on photoshop, I took the masthead, slogan, QR code, bar with publisher, and social media ads, these where taken from the previous billboards, the website and the main product (newspaper) and placed and added to this simple design.

Rationale: I used photoshop to create the print, and kept the same colour code as in the website and the main print for the same reason.

Feedback

Feedback

First of all I apologise for the ill timing, I have had the feedback for weeks but I just have not posted them because I have been responding to the feed back from peers and lectures. First of all I changed my Ancillary Print, I removed the Fleur de Lis, I thought it would give the product a regal look, but it back fired and looked out of place.

I added a background and a put an effect on it, then started again and went with a much more simplistic approach, which has the logo, the tag line, and all of the legal information.

I edited the website by changing the colour scheme, I made it darker so that it would look more professional and not what it is - a media studies piece.

Synergy

I've used a website, and integrated the site by using a QR code on the pages and the stories so people can read more into the story on the move instead of carrying a newspaper around with them.

The website has multiple links to football, X Factor, horoscopes etc. I've done this to involve a wider audience, in an attempt to integrate secondary and tertiary audiences.

Brand ID

ID

The identity of my product is a red top tabloid, a typical, not focusing on the actually world issues, but that Kerry Katona is snorting cocaine in front of her kids (nit an actual story).

Unique Selling Points (USP)

I have a red top tabloid which is one of the most generic forms of printed media, however I believe that I've created more outgoing, "ridiculous" stories that involve charters that are more eccentic than they need to be, and the stories could be argued as been a hyperbole of reality.

Negotiated Reading

There could be some disputes to wether the child was possibly consenting in my fictitious story or that the instructor was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Secondary Audience

The subliminal audience would be the families of those who bought it or their colleagues.

Primary Audience

The target audience for my product was working class/unemployed (socio economic class C1, C2, D, E) civilians, whose typical newspaper would be "The Sun" or "The Daily Star".

Oppositional Reading

The interpretation that is not the intentional reading, is that the diving instructor is innocent and wrongly accused.

Preferred Reading

The preferred reading on one of my stories is that the diving instructor is a murderous pedophile; and that the dead child is an innocent victim that didn't deserve to be abused and killed.
